LAHORE: City hospitals are not prepared for a possible dengue fever outbreak as they lack the equipment needed to properly treat dengue patients, sources at the hospitals told Daily Times on Friday.
Dengue fever usually spreads during the month of September, however, the recent rains have caused pools of stagnant water to accumulate, increasing the chances of dengue mosquitoes. Last year, more than a 100 people tested positive for dengue in the city, while there were reports of more than 400 unconfirmed patients.
